Gardner's Multiple Intelligences
Multiple Intelligence Theory was developed in 1983 by Dr. Howard Gardner, Professor and Educator at Harvard University. The theory suggest that everybody has a different mind and no two profiles of intelligence are the same. Therefore the traditional concept of measuring intelligence by I.Q. testing is far too restricted. From the seven primary intelligence's, an individual may excel in one, two or even three of them but certainly not all.
The 7 Primary intelligences
Dr. Gardner says that schools focus too much attention on linguistic and logical-mathematical intelligence rather than placing equal attention on individuals who show gifts in the other intelligence's: the artists, architects, musicians, naturalists, designers, etc.
